![]() Wizards also don't have any idea how to shoot from a gun. The Order of the Phoenix was doing what they could to hunt down, gather intel and more on Voldemort and his crew and that was hard enough, and there were some pretty powerful and wise wizards in that order. Also, it's not like death eaters are wearing shirts on saying "I'M A DEATH EATER", so if there was a secret squad out there hunting down death eaters, or even Voldemort himself, they don't know who to hunt down or where to find them. The ministry is under Voldemort's control. (The idea of a wizard team six that uses wands would be pretty cool, though) TL DR: No A wand is a highly multifunctional tool and you just replaced it by an inferior one that's only good at killing.Īnd last but not least: the ministry wouldn't trust muggle technology enough to build a team like that. These are people who can mend (or vanish) broken bones with a simple flick of the wand or regrow an entire arm in one night.Ī specialised team carrying guns would also be pretty useless against other wizards when they need to do things they need their wand for. Wizards are pretty resilient if they do get hit. As for the element of surprise: we've seen wizards have unconscious defense mechanisms (ie Neville bouncing). A simple protection spell can most likely stop a bullet and the gun can be transfigured in to something else. Guns are probably not that effective against wizards. ![]() That factoid floats around on the internet but I've never seen a source for it.
